Bancroft Gardens Hitchin Hertfordshire SG5 1LL Telephone: 01462 433255 Hitchin Town Bowls Club is a flat green Bowls organisation in the centre of the old market town of Hitchin in Hertfordshire, in the UK. Hitchin Town Bowls Club is a small, private Bowls Club that operates the bowling greens owned by North Hertfordshire District Council, as a partnership between Hitchin Town Bowls Club and North Hertfordshire District Council. Hitchin Town Bowls Club’s principal objective is to provide a service to the community by promoting flat green bowls through carrying out the functions of the maintenance and the letting of Hitchin’s outdoor bowling Greens as an Outdoor Bowls Club - that is its operating club members. The organisation is managed and operated on a voluntary basis by its committee and club members, in a friendly environment. Facilities for disabled persons are an integral part of the property. Hitchin Town Bowls Club’s major attractive force is its provision of two high standard 6-rink outdoor bowling greens. This feature is backed up by comfortable changing rooms, and a pleasant club room, with a bar. Because of the seasonal nature of bowls, opening hours are limited to the summer months. It is recommended that all public use of bowling greens be pre booked, otherwise casual users are liable to find bowling greens closed and no one in attendance. Hitchin Bowls Club paid up members have more comprehensive access to the bowling greens and club facilities. Weather or light conditions and green maintenance permitting the bowling greens are nominally open to the public as per the following sessions, provided there is a demand for their use:-
