Bowling Greens open for public use 1^st May to 30th September

Public bookings may be made from The Hitchin Initiative Office - Churchyard – Hitchin.

The bowling greens are open for most of the published times, however when there is no known demand for the use of the bowling greens, the bowling greens and bowls equipment store are kept locked. Public bookings are limited to 8 playing members of the public per day, unless by previous agreement for greater numbers.

Of necessity all public bookings need to be at least 48hrs in advance.

For shorter periods of notice members of the public may present themselves at the bowling green, if open, and make a request of a club member; in which case the club member will collect any fees.

For public bookings made by the Hitchin Initiative Office, a ticket will be issued for each member of the public wishing to bowl and the appropriate fee collected.

In order to ensure proper access to the bowling greens and to bowling equipment, Hitchin Initiative will contact a key holder after a booking has been made, in order to ensure access.

Bowling sessions available:

Weekdays: 2.30pm to 5pm & 6pm to 8.30pm - Weekends & Public Holidays: 2.30pm to 5pm only

Charges:

Bowling £3.50p per person - per session. Hire of bowls £1 per set of 4 bowls - per session. Reductions for Juniors.

Conditions of use:

All sessions must be pre booked & paid for before bowling  commences.

Evening bookings must be claimed before 6.15pm

All bookings are at the discretion of Hitchin Town Bowls Club & are subject to availability & weather conditions. 

Rained off sessions will be re-booked.

Bowls shoes or ‘flat soled’ trainers (no heels) are mandatory.

The decision of the duty green keeper is final in allowing play to take place.
